Milan Fashion Week SS 23 in general, street style and celebrities.
Milan Fashion Week offers us an overwhelming amount of street style inspirations. Even though the MFW attendees are already exhausted, they still show up and inspire. This year Fashion Week seemed to me nearly like before COVID times. There were many influencers coming from all over the world and they presented fabulous styles. Styles that are most desirable the next season, some more timeless and some extremely bold.
During this MFW Milan was packed with celebrities, top-list influencers and models. Just to name a few. I spotted Naomi Campbell at Armani Hotel and Erykah Badu at Palazzo Parigi Hotel. There were Kim Kardashian and Hadid’s sisters: Bella and Gigi, Carla Bruni and Paris Hilton. Naomi Campbell and Carla Bruni were modelling for the Max Mara brand. One of my favourite models: Kate Moss walked for Bottega Veneta and Paris for Versace. Last but not least the most iconic and watched show was by Dolce & Gabanna. The main star of this show was Kim Kardashian. It was really big and gathered huge crowds outside of the venue.
Maternity Street Style during MFW SS 23
During this MFW I was 6 months pregnant and this changed my usual MFW looks a lot. What I was wearing was much different to what I would wear normally, but it still was aligned with my style and taste. I created maternity street-style looks that can be worn by all ladies, not only pregnant ones. I was styling normal labels, not special maternity outfits as this gave me more choices. I tried to add some of the current trends but did not neglect my blessed state. I also think that most maternity clothing is a bit boring (for my taste). That is why I prefer to play dress up with normal clothing. How did I do it?
- Tip 1. Buying oversized clothing
- Tip 2. Buying 1 size bigger clothing.
MFW I had to come up with more creative ways to make my looks interesting and accommodate my growing belly. However, I priority for me was to feel comfortable in order to survive the MFW. However, I wanted to show that baby bump and maternity street-style looks can also be fun. A pregnant woman can also enjoy and attend Fashion Week and look fashionable.
Without further due please have a look at my maternity street style looks.
Maternity Street style during MFW: Bodycon dress.
I was wearing a flattering bodycon dress that I paired with an oversized blazer and comfortable sneakers. Ideal for all-day attending shows and presentations during MFW.
Bulgari Fashion Presentation
A tunic mini dress and an oversized tweed blazer.
This dress is a super easy choice as a maternity outfit. Again I am wearing 1 size bigger, so it’s more comfortable in the belly area. It’s by my favourite Milan brand: Millé Milano.

Borsalino Hats – a great accessory for pregnant ladies.
I don’t know why, but since I am pregnant I am wearing quite a lot of hats. They seem like the perfect accessory and change a bit of focus point. My favourite brand is Borsalino and I was also wearing it in MFW.
Blazer Dress- Fall/ Winter Trend
In Milano, I was wearing a Lumina Fashion Blazer dress in the trending green olive colour. To see a full edit of this dress please click here. I paired it with chunky black shoes and socks.
Flattering All-Black Look for the evening Shows.
The look for GCDS fashion show I wanted to wear a black look with green shoes to add some colour. I had a silk knitted skirt that I pulled over the belly, a bralette and opened blazer from an Italian/ Suisse Designer: Giovanni Lo Presti.
All black look / Journalist day / with a jeans Jacket.
This is most likely my most simple maternity street-style look. It was a rainy day in Milan and I wanted to feel very comfortable. Also, I had to visit many press presentations and do some interviews. That is why I decided to wear all black (typical for the press during Fashion Week ). However, I added my vintage Versace Jeans Jacket from Gianni Versace Collection and Versace accessories to add more Italian flair. Surprisingly I had a lot of nice comments about this style. Sometimes less is more.
Maternity classic. Black bodycon dress.
Another Maternity Street Style classic look. A comfortable black over-the-knee bodycon dress. This style is perfect if you like to add focus on a growing belly. I like to always put a blazer on it, so I am feeling more comfortable.
Animal Print with a classic leather blazer.
The massive trend for this season is animal prints. I found an old dress in my wardrobe with snake prints that I paired with a beige leather jacket from Brunello Cucinelli. It was a bit longer jacket so it made me feel very comfortable. I added some shiny accessories, like Prada Pochette in silver sequins.
All Pink- the ultimate trend for Fall and Winter.
This trend I saw all over MFW and PFW. Thanks to Maison Valentino Pink is the colour for this season. I was wearing nearly everything in pink, apart from sunglasses. This knitted dress is also a perfect choice for maternity style.
I hope that you liked my little recap from MFW and my Maternity Street Style looks.
