Le Chat-Botté Resturant
On the 20th of October, I had a chance to take part in Avant-première of special Fall Menu at Le Chat-Botté restaurant. The Chasse Menu or in English: the Hunting Game Menu, was created by Michelin star awarded chef Dominique Gauthier. Le Chat-Botté Restaurant is one of the most famous restaurants in Geneva, Created by Mr Fred Mayer in 1967.
As a seasoned epicurean and visionary himself, was totally convinced of how fine dining could be a major asset in the world of luxury hotels.
Since then, several Michelin-star chefs lead this restaurant: Lucien Leheu, Louis Outhier, Richard Cressac and then from 2001 Dominique Gauthier. Chef Dominique before becoming a head chef was already working at the restaurant since 1996.

My Experience
The degustation at Le Chat-Botté Restaurant was absolutely wonderful. Very intimate, in a lively atmosphere. It was nice to see everything from the kitchen angle and see how chefs were working. (I used to have my restaurant, so being in the kitchen brought many memories).
Regarding the food… I am a huge fan of the game ( as it’s our traditional food in Poland) so I was in heaven when I could try this menu. Everything was beautifully served. The menu was traditional but made with a modern twist. Each dish was full of flavours and textures. The feast was finished with a beautiful Fall-inspired dessert. I loved it a lot and it was a nice finish to the meal. During the degustation, the chef was explaining to us the history of each dish and told us different anecdotes and stories. Even from his childhood memories, involved with the food. It was wonderful to see his passion and charisma.
Chef Dominique Gauthier
A PASSION FOR REFINED TASTE AND EXCELLENCE
This is how he is described on the Beau-Rivage website. Chef’s Dominique Gauthier cuisine is authentic, delicious and beautifully served. To eat at Le Chat-Botté is an unforgettable and unique experience.
Inspired by the greatest chefs, crowned with a Michelin star and an 18 out of 20 rating by Gault & Millau, at Le Chat-Botté Chef Dominique Gauthier found an establishment to match his talent.
