Watches and Wonders – The pieces we loved.
March was full of wonderful moments and one of the events took place in Geneva. The Watches and Wonders exhibition brought an extraordinary atmosphere of innovation, passion and creation to the city. During the week of Watches and Wonders, a lot of famous people could be encountered all over the city: David Beckham for Tudor, Julia Roberts for Chopard or Lucien Laviscount for Bulgari.
There were amazing displays and presentations all around Geneva.
You could get a pass for the big fair with leading brands such as Chanel, Patek Philippe, Rolex, Van Cleef and Arpels and more. During the week you could enter as a buyer, journalist or influencer and over the weekend admission was open to the public.
Each brand had a special booth that created an unforgettable atmosphere. Let me introduce you to selected items.
Brands during Watches & Wonders in Geneva
Van Cleef and Arpels
Van Cleef and Arpels brought a whole new universe to Geneva. The craftsmanship and details of the exhibits were breathtaking. The Watches, seen from the jewellers’ eyes, expertly combined functionality and jewellery. My favourite is the ‘Lady Duo de Lions’ – beautiful craftsmanship, sophisticated and elevated by gemstones.
Patek Philippe
The ‘Patek Philippe Calatrava 24-Hour Travel Time’ watch is amazing for those on the move. It displays two time zones at the same time and is crafted in shades of petrol blue and rose gold.
Charriol
The Charriol ‘Slim Precious’ collection was displayed at W&W, showing three varying elegant styles in silver, yellow gold and rose gold. Charriol decided to use 3 different stones accompanied by 12 diamonds.
Stones: Simili Lapis Lazuli / Malachite / Tiger’s Eye
Chanel
Chanel introduced their ‘Interstellar ‘collection, inspired by pixels, the universe, phosphorous, the moon, robots and digital technology.
Rolex
The `Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36` features a puzzle and emojis. This is a new Rolex edition, where you can choose an emoji instead of the day. The dial is playful with colourful puzzle pieces.
Jacob & Co
Jacob & Co. displayed their ‘Billionaire Aimless Treasure’ watch, priced at $20 million.
Jacob & Co created the most expensive watch made of 425 yellow diamonds. The process of collecting the diamonds took over 3 and a half years. This exquisitely crafted watch is a unique piece in prestigious jewellery.
Bulgari
Bulgari introduced their ‘Serpenti Tubogas Infinity’. This beautiful iconic curved watch from Bulgari loops around the hand and has a specific modular bracelet encrusted with diamonds. This is the first time that decorative diamonds have been evenly integrated into a flexible bracelet.
Phillipp Plein
Phillipp Plain took Geneva events to another level. The new collection of watches called CRYPTO KING was delivered to him by Red Bull base jumpers from a helicopter above Lake Geneva! The collection is made in Switzerland and the purchase of each watch is connected to the acquisition of digital NFT art.
